When looking for a new place to live in, it can be difficult to decide whether you want to live in an apartment or a house. There are many factors that come into play here when choosing your home. Are you going to have roommates, or you prefer living alone? Do you have enough money to pay utilities and rent or you want to split the bills with someone? Perhaps you don’t have much choice if there is a shortage of apartments or houses in your area. But here are several reasons why renting a house is a better option than renting an apartment.
If you like peace and quiet when you come home from work and you just want to unwind a little, an apartment is not the option for you. If you rent an apartment, you will most definitely have neighbors in the apartment next to yours. There will be neighbors above you and below you as well; as a matter of fact, you will be surrounded by them. And this can turn into a nightmare for you since it can be noisy and loud, especially if the said neighbors have kids. But when you rent a house, your beloved neighbors will not be as close to you. This means less noise and fewer problems.
In an apartment, living space is usually a bedroom or two and a living room. If you rent a house, living space means a big living room, upstairs and downstairs living area, porch, backyard, front lawn, and big kitchen. If you don’t like living in a tiny place, then a house is the right choice for you. You will have more space to make it a home and decorate. Your home office will be a separate room, whereas in an apartment, your home office will be on the same table you are eating on. And if you want to decorate your house office with some Zion Interiors furniture, you will have enough space to do it.
Even if you clean after yourself and maintain the cleanliness of your home on a regular basis, this is all in vain if your apartment neighbors don’t do that as well. In a complex of apartments, if others have ants, roaches or other insects in their home, it is likely these pests will manage do find their way to your apartment. You will have to call experts to help you get rid of these unwanted guests and you might even have to leave your apartment for a couple of days. If you rent a house, you are responsible for the cleanliness of your home.
With some rare exceptions, a house is likely to come with more amenities than an apartment. If you rent a house, you will probably have a washing and drying machine somewhere in your house. In an apartment, this is rare, and you will have to use a shared washer and dryer in the basement of the complex or find a laundromat near you. Older apartments rarely come with a parking space, and today when families sometimes have two or three cars, that can be a problem. If you rent a house, you will likely have a garage, and at least one parking spot. If amenities like these mean to you, then a house is a far better option for you.
If you are a person who values their own privacy and peace, and likes to live in a spacious home, then a house is the right choice for you.
