Beautifying one’s interior is one of the primary concerns by different homeowners both those who personally own their property and those who are renting it.
For residents of units like the Makati condo for rent, the options to beautify the place might be limited considering all the policies one has to observe by the residential terms set by the landowner.
However, this doesn’t mean that you can no longer exercise your right to personalize the space and make it look more personal and stunning. Here are some home design hacks you can use as a reference to give your private place a brand new look.
Coin-decorated vases
Add a more stunning appeal to typical jars on display by wrapping them up using coins of different monetary value. This is an excellent alternative, especially for old vessels. Most of the old ones already have their prints erase. Might as well cover them up by pasting coins around the vase. All you need is a sticky glue, capable of holding the coins against ceramic or glass (depending on the material your vessel is made of.)
Aside from a new look, the finished product will also give you a glittery antique feel on the material.
Mandala-inspired book shelf
This one is rather meticulous, but is perfect for breaking the monotony of typical shelves you see at home. If you have a personal book collection, then having a secure, but equally, artistic shelving is a nice touch to your home interior. You will need woods, preferably painted in any plain color of your choice.
There are varied mandala shapes, but the most popular ones are those floral-like images. Ask the help of a family member or close friend to cut the wood and shape it to the pattern of your choice. The front area has to have enough space, which you can do by creating a box-like angle. This is where you can put your entire book collection.
Paper curtains
Who says you can’t create curtains through paper? By using sturdy types of papers and folding them into various patterns, you can eventually have the finished product hanged on your windows.
Jar candle centerpieces
Candle-lit accessories are favorite decorations by romantic people or by anyone who likes to add an air of solace in their place at night. All you need is an empty jar, perhaps that used mayonaise or jam container, and a dark-colored paint. Cover a particular portion of the transparent jar with paint and leave out enough space (maybe a heart-shaped spot) sufficient to highlight the candle illumination once you place it inside the jar.
Glow in the dark wall stickers
Rather than a simple wallpaper, you can add fancier details on your wall using glow in the dark stickers. They come in different shapes and figures like cats, stars, shapes and even those magical creatures you knew about from fairy tale stories. Canvass for designs from your local stores and see if you can customize the design to fit your preference.
DIY wall organizer
This one is practical for homeowners who often have issues misplacing things while they navigate around their place. All you need is a thick piece of cloth (size will depend on how big your wall organizer will be), sewing materials, different colored clothes (can be taken from used clothing) and other minor design elements you want to add on the organizer.
Just sew a portion of colored cloth against the thicker one and create pocket-like sections. This is where you can place different items like keys, pens, post-its and more. Then, you can hang the finished organizer at any convenient wall in your room or the living room for easy access.
Mirror behind a lamp
This is a simple trick to brighten up your room and drive the gloomy atmosphere away. The light coming from the lamp will bounce off the mirror, sending it directly to the open space before it.
Personalized shoe closet
If you’re a sucker for great footwear, then having a separate cabinet to house your precious goods is a must. But rather than automatically buying a brand new cabinet, why not make those vacant walls useful? All you need is a simple shoe rack which you can then attached against the wall. Cover it with a curtain, and there you have it!
Reuse iron boards to service table
Don’t underestimate the unique shape of your iron boards. With a little bit of tweaking, it can be a beautiful accessory in your interior design. Take off its external designs and repaint it. Choose a color that blends well against different places in your home. The table can then be used to hold wine trays and other essential accessories.
Get creative on the carpeting
Carpets may not be as easily noticeable as those things you hang on walls, but they do an efficient job at complementing the items present in your home. Consider the idea of personalizing your carpet not only the main living room area but even on the porch and bedroom.
Your home appearance is more than just aesthetics. It’s also a representation of your personality and interests. Make your condo unit look great by using some of the design tricks we’ve had on the list!
