Your garden is one such place where you can just unwind yourself after a whole day of tiring work. That feeling is just awesome to take a deep breath amidst of the captivating greenery as well as sweet-smelling and appealing flowers. Moreover, not only creating a gorgeous garden is enough to experience this but also you should work continuously on maintaining the beauty of your garden to make it look as it is all the time.
So, Today I am going to share seven extremely effective tips which, I believe, would definitely help you to take utmost care of your home garden and make it look more attractive with each passing day.
1. Treat the tubs before you plant
You should remove the salt deposits that get layered up on the clay pots. This can be done by forming a mixture of white vinegar, rubbing alcohol and water in a spray bottle and spraying it before you sow a new seed.
2. Reduce the weights of the heavy pots
A heavy pot with a plant in it is inconvenient to take proper care of. For that, you can fill the one-third or half of the pot with packing peanuts. You need to put a landscape fabric upon that and then start filling your soil. You can even reduce the weight more by using a potting mix with a large amount of peat moss and vermiculite.
3. A rain gauge is must
When it’s going to rain? This is a factor you need to learn if you want to maintain a great garden. Because rain is an important factor for some plants to grow and some can withstand only a little rain. So, you can decide whether to plant a rain-sensitive plant or not by looking at the water level of the rain-gauge.
You can spruce up your rain-gauge by adding some drops of food coloring dye to the bottom. On doing that, you can understand easily when it’s going to rain next by looking at the water which would have become red by combining with the red dye by that time.
4. Include a garden storage shed
You can add a storage shed in your garden where all the unnecessary stuff can be kept within. So, your garden won’t look messy. May it be a driller, planter, water can or any other garden accessory, you can keep them all. Moreover, having a storage shed in your garden will help you maintain a clean garden as well as store the old stuff of your home in the shed.
5. Twine handy garden
You can make your garden absolutely twine handy by doing a simple thing. You just have to stick a ball of twine in a small pot made up of clay. Then pull the end of the twine through the drainage hole. After doing that, you can set the pot upside down in the garden. Just do this simple thing and I assure that you’ll never look for twine again.
6. Get rid of aphids
You can get rid of these little buggers in a very interesting way. Apart from watering and using an insecticidal soap, you can even use a tape to get the aphids away. Yes, you read it right, a tape!! You just have to wrap the wide strip of the tape around your hand and keep the sticky side out. Now, just pat the leaves which are infected with aphids. Do this more for the underside of the leaves, because that’s where they hide more.
So, Isn’t maintaining a nice garden an easy job? I’m sure these points will take proper care of your garden and maintain that vibrant ambiance around your home.
