The living room is where the soul is in every home. It’s where the family gather, relax, and spend quality time together: watch sports or movies, where kids play, and where guests are entertained. It’s also the part of the house where design speaks above as well as where the mess is more kept under the eye, however, in some cases, more prevalent.
Making your living room that of a luxury home doesn’t necessarily mean replacing your sofa with an expensive one or bringing in high-end sculptures. There are other ways you can achieve that luxe while keeping your budget in check.
Give your custom home that extra love it deserves and showcases its full potential thru a high-end makeover.
Scale artwork is luxe
Give your walls a little love and attention. Hang a large painting or a collection of artworks against your living room wall to provide more of your personality. Plus, art makes a good impression whether it’s a personal work, a gift, or something you bought. This one can be tricky, though, since art is subjective, however, you can find quality works of art at reasonable costs.
Lighting, natural or artificial, is every home’s best friend. When shopping for light fixtures: table lamp, floor lamp, chandelier, and the likes, it can be tempting to just go for the inexpensive one. Moreover, investing in a good quality and stylish lighting fixture can glow up any dull living area.
In addition to that, lighting fixtures make a nice focal point especially if designated and the style compliments the whole space.
Put up large mirrors
Mirrors give the illusion of a larger and airier space. It’s also a good and at the same time stylish tool in adding more light to it. As you may have noticed in every beautiful and luxury home, light and space are the two quintessential factors in achieving that luxe state of a home.
Spruce up with curtains
A simple and easy way to transform your living room is by replacing the window treatments and hanging it up higher. This will give the illusion of a higher ceiling especially if you have a ceiling to pavement curtains readily available to put up.
You may think “but curtains are expensive”, that’s true. However, you can still give your space an extra “oomph” starting with curtains: double everything. This means double panels and thicker or multiple curtains to hang.
Make a statement with pillows and throws
Throw blankets and pillows are often overlooked. Give these little pieces a personal and stylish touch and they will be a worthy investment. Go for silk, velvet, faux fur, or any other luxury textile fabrics for these and style them accordingly to your home decor, it will serve your living room A+ with style.
You can never go wrong with decorative accessory pieces such as a large vase, a fascinating sculpture, a calming succulent or any other houseplant, and the works. Any oversized (large pieces often give the impression of luxe) display can be a head-turner since it will serve as your focal point.
Nothing speaks volume of a luxury than custom furniture. Custom furniture more often than not prioritize space, style, and storage for full functionality, purpose, and design. It’s cost vary depending on the project but regardless, it’s a worthy investment that will serve you well in the long run.
Not all of us can afford to build a custom, luxury home. However, there are plenty of ways we can do to stamp luxury even in our living room.
