Every homeowner is all for making their bedrooms not only functional, but comfortable and beautiful as well. When a bedroom is an eye-candy, you’d almost never want to leave your bedroom! And as time passes, it’s inevitable that the bedroom could look and feel rundown. That’s why some homeowners resort to bedroom design renovation.
Many have lived by the misconception that bedroom renovation can be costly. However, there are a couple of ways homeowners can do minor and significant renovations without breaking the bank. In this article, we’ll tell you seven easy ideas for your next bedroom design renovation.
1. Change the bed
When we say bedroom, we instantly think of a place to sleep. And even though our current beds have been our sleeping companion all these years. Haven’t you ever thought of replacing it with a new one just to give your bedroom a new look and feel? If you currently have the ordinary bed, you can try out a cabinet bed queen for a change. This is perfect for small bedroom space and if you want more storage in the bedroom.
2. Fill with greens
One way to give “life” to your bedroom, literally and figuratively, is to add some greens. The color green is a relaxing color and it’s very soothing to the eyes. For instance, you can put some indoor plants or hanging plants inside your bedroom. Not only do some of these plants purify the air but they’re also very therapeutic.
3. Bank on rugs
One way to make your bedroom seem bigger is to double up on various rug sizes. Having different sizes of rugs makes it look like your room is segmented. That said, choose those with various shapes and prints to make your bedroom lively as well.
4. Under-the-bed storage
If you want more bedroom storage but lack the space to put more cabinets, then do under-the-bed storage. Ordinary, standing cabinets are a thing of the past. You can take advantage of the space under the bed and put storage boxes so you avoid clutter in your bedroom.
5. Mirrored cabinet doors
And speaking of old-school style, if you still have the standing cabinets with doors, try to spruce your cabinets up a bit. Replace the ordinary doors with mirrors. We’re looking into more than a full-length mirror. These mirrors must replace the entire cabinet doors, from side to side and top to bottom. Aside from having a mirror, this style will also make your bedroom bigger.
6. Overhead shelves
Another way to redesign your bedroom storage is to replace bulky storages with overhead shelves. If you place these shelves high up, this directs the eyes toward the ceiling. Not only are they not obstructive, but overhead shelves are also stylish, modern, and space-saving.
7. Try accent walls
Bedrooms are usually where we sleep. But that doesn’t mean we can’t play around with the design to give it oomph. Try painting an accent wall. If you have an all-white bedroom, try to give it life by painting one wall with bold, solid colors like dark blue or red-orange. Not only is this bedroom redesign cheap, but it can also be DIYed.
