Devanahalli is a town municipal council under the Bengaluru rural district in Karnataka. The area is 40km towards the north east of Bengaluru. The area has gained much prominence in the recent past for being the site of the Bengaluru International Airport, which is Indias second largest airport. The Devanahalli Business Park is coming up near the airport. It is slated to cover 400 acres of land and house two IT parks within. Devanahalli also has a science park, a financial city and an aerospace park coming up. Devanahalli is also the birthplace of Tipu Sultan.Connectivity The Kempegowda International Airport is around 5 km towards the south of Devanahalli. It can be reached from here by going southwards along the NH7. It takes around an hour to reach the heart of Bengaluru. The Bengaluru city railway station is 37.3km away along the Bellary Road and NH7. Real Estate Devanahalli real estate has gained much traction since the inauguration of the Kempegowda International Airport. Mostly plot and villa projects are coming up in the area, although several developers are focusing on apartment properties too. These projects are mostly gated communities with numerous amenities available.Social Infrastructure The social, civic and physical infrastructure has rapidly improved in the recent past and is continues to do so. There are various schools present in the neighbourhood such as Oxford English School, Akash International School, Government Higher Primary School Bachchahalli, Anantha Vidyaniketan and Maya Public School. These schools are mostly affiliated to the State Board, CBSE and ICSE. The medium of instruction is English or Kannada. Banks such as Canara Bank, Punjab National Bank and ICICI Bank have their branches in the neighbourhood. Numerous hospitals have come up in the area, which offer quality treatment for various ailments. Reputed hospitals situated here are Drishti Eye Care Centre, Leena Multispecialty and Manasa Hospital.
